My heavens, you certainly want to span a few hundred centuries. The blowing iron was developed shortly after the birth of Christ and converted glass from an expensive something wrapped around a core to a much quicker and cheaper product inflated from molten glass. There are thousands of pieces and fragments of vessels from Roman times.
The bottle machine was developed in several steps at the end of 19th century and was the beginning of the end of hand blown retail glass which remains as art glass. By 1910, virtually no hand blown factory glass was being produced.
