Adolf Hitler - although i didnt agree with anything he did , but he restored a war torn germony into a power which took control of all of the euro allied forces nation's excluding the UK, he restored a country with a restriced militry to wipe out more of allied solders than we did of theres, he would of won, if it wasnt for the UK and the fact that the UK was a very close allie of the USA which helped us beat them.

I admire many historical figures. My favorites though are Julius Caesar and Theodore Roosevelt.

Theodore Roosevelt was once shot during a speech, and after the man who had shot him was arrested, he finished the speech before going to the hospital. Roosevelt grew up a sickly child in New York, and he was determined to overcome his illnesses. He also had extremely bad eyesight, but he overcame this and was a skilled marksman. When Roosevelt was a Rough Rider he carried several pairs of glasses which he often lost. He set up many national parks and also was the first president to be a "Trust Buster".

Julius Caesar was an expert general, an exceptional orator, and a excellent statesman. Once he and a Roman legion built a bridge over a river in Germany ( I once knew the name of it, but i cannot remember it any more), a project that would have taken modern engineers and workers several months if not a year or two, it took Caesar and his legion around 5 weeks to build this bridge.

There are sooo many. Jesus is an obvious #1, but a few misguided souls who acted on a strongly held belief come to mind -- like Alexander the Great (ruler of the known world by age 16) and Napoleon. But I think I'm going to go with Gandhi, Picasso, and Henry Ford. (But I could just as easily have mentioned Confucius, Shakespeare, and Harry Truman!)

Gandhi. Peace and non-violence to get what you want is a radical idea, and even though King used it in America, Gandhi started it so I choose him.
