The cabnet in our kitchen just collapsed as my gram was getting something. A large, glass, karosen lamp was on top of it, and cracked her on the top of her head.
Besides making sure she doesn't fall asleep, what should I be doing?

um yeah. you should take her to the hospital. my grandmothr hit her head in february and we took her right into the hospital. she was bleeding in her brain which wasnt picked up on the cat scans, and she slipped into a coma. now she is still recovering.

i agree with the guy before me...

but with all seriousness, make sure that she isn't expierencing unconsciousness, headache, convulsions, vacant or dazed expression, drowsiness, vomiting for no apparent reason, and loss of memory of the injury, because all of these may be indications of possible brain injury.

but call 911 immediately if she doesnt seem normal to you

A cold pack on her head to quiet the pain. Is she bleeding?

Since we cannot tell how hard she was hit, the two of you will have to use your best judgment as to whether she should go to the emergency room.

Good luck, I hope she is better soon.
