Most places have 2 high tides and 2 low tides a day because it is basically gravitational attraction by the moon and sun that causes them. As the earth rotates, the water is attracted towards the side nearest the moon. A full cycle usually takes about 12 hours, so there are two cycles every 24 hours.

Presume that 0 degree longitude is dealing with the moon. Now extreme tide will happen at 0 degree longitude besides as at a hundred and eighty degree(you my take it as E or W)longitude.on a similar time, ninety degree longitude E and 270 degree longitude E(or ninety degree W) could have low tides. So,at a definite time there will be 2 extreme tides and a pair of low tides at 4 distinctive places each and each separated via ninety levels longitude.whilst the earth rotates ,each and each place will bypass by those 2 extreme tide positions and a pair of low tide positions for each rotation.because of the fact the earth completes one rotation in in line with day, each and each place could have 2 extreme tides and a pair of low tides on a daily basis.
