A mailman used to live across the street from me and he would always stop at his house for like an hour when he was delivering his mail.

I heard of a mailman, once, who wouldn't deliver mail to his own address because the a--hole who lived there had a really vicious dog. So, he just took the letters to his own house, and kept them there, hoping that the guy wouldn't complain to the mail police.
True story.

If you recall Cliff Clavin on the show 'Cheers', he always had his mail sent to the bar, but he didn't deliver it; some other mailman did.

My father was a mailman. He lived on his own route. We didn't have a mailbox. He just brought it in the house.
