This quote summed it up for me: "It doesn't make economic sense, it doesn't make political sense, it doesn't make historical sense. Other than that, it's a good idea," said Paul Gillies, a lawyer and Vermont historian.

Since they aren't raising an army, this is just a letter of intent. Also, it is a group from Vermont--it isn't as if the legislature voted for it or anything. There is nothing wrong with pointing out the flaws of government. Many people wonder how we can keep a country this big and diverse together forever, and if it ever seems we can't, I hope someone comes up with a peaceful solution to break it into parts that will allow the greatness of America to continue.

Well it was unpatriotic for the South to do that...and the North brought us back with force...so if it happens does that mean we can force them back into the Union using Sherman's "Scorched Earth" policy? If the US allows them, then we can sue the Federal Government for discrimination..and secede again...=)...Vermont would fold in six months when the US cut off exports to them...it is too cold for them to grow much food...they have no access to the sea...so they could not trade...they are screwed...I say let them do it...

I think its sad that Liberals have taken over a fine old state. the problem is that Neo-Socialist Liberals they can't live in the societies they create so they have to migrate to new territories. Vermont has been taken over by New Yorkers and citizens from the socialist state of Massachusetts.
It's all so sad.

Next to hanging our flags upside down as a symbol of distress - what else can they do!

Nothing seems to be stopping the madness and our votes obviously hold no value or message for either side anymore!

Votes is all they are now - nothing more and nothing less!

God Bless 'em!

Patriotism at it's finest.

I'll start a petition for New York to do so next.

this is not the america we know and love. this is a fascist and imperialist riche that is destroying our name, our good standing and the future for all. vermont is like a rat from a sinking ship. it is extremely patriotic in that we wish for what america is supposed to be -- for all -- just like how this country started in the first place, a revolt from the unjust
