In my previous question I actually meant 39 weeks and not 39 months. It was a typo. The question is " is it possible for a woman to be 39 weeks pregnant as it is more than 9 months.I dont think any one could even cross 35 weeks."

Pregnancy is not 9 months--this is just a common misconception. Pregnancy is actually about 40 weeks. Anywhere from 37-42 weeks is full-term.

i agree with most of these people....a pregnancy is normally 40 weeks....but, most doctors consider 37+ weeks as a full term baby b/c doctors can't really tell the exact date that you conceived and since the best time to get pregnant is approximately 2 weeks after your last period they give or take a few weeks. You may have gotten pregnant on the last day of your period or the day after which would make you have a baby around 37-38 weeks and if you didn't get pregnant until the day before your next period, that might make you be around 42 weeks.....usually a dr. won't let you be pregnant after that...they will induce b/c the placenta can start corroding and dying....also, you may have not noticed you missed a period until way later and then maybe have been off a week when you told them your last period....i think i did that!! but most of the time they are right on the money and to answer your question, yes you can be prego for 39 weeks and it is very normal!!!!congrats on the baby!!

Technically a full term pregnancy is 40 weeks which would make it ten months if there was only 4 weeks in a month. But in actuallity 40 weeks is 9 months if you add every day of the months together.

39 weeks is close to 9 months. Take the number of days that would be which is 273 and devide it by 30 which is roughly the number of days in a month which would be 9.1 months pregnant. There arent only 4 weeks in every month. It works out correctly if you do it this way :)

Pregnancy actually last for 40 weeks which is 10 months. After 36 weeks most doctors will consider inducing you if your are extremely uncomfortable, the baby is very large or if there is any signs of problems.

I was induced with both of my kids the older one was 41 weeks!!! And my second was 36 weeks to the day!!! :)

The length of human pregnancy is only approximate. Some woman are pregnant a shorter length of time some more.
Check with your doctor. It could be that your dates are off, your date of conception could be later than you had thought.
But your best bet right now is to check with your doctor. ASAP!

A woman is pregnant 40 weeks and that equals 10 months, so we are pregnant that long, give or take complications/late baby...
