No State allows it outright for recreational use,but they have a few states that have medical marijuana laws that allow terminally ill patients relief from marijuana. Oregon, was first to allow it, Alaska was tha last to outlaw it and it is now legal again I think , and California I believe has a medical marijuana law too. Not sure about the other states. I think Washington State may have that law too.

Alaska allows it, California allows it for medicinal purposes, but also, many CITIES have ordinances that allow it, like Ann Arbor, and Detroit. However, none of those laws trumps the big federal gov't, so it is still illegal, on a federal level.

Marijuana is illegal on a federal level so no matter what states may allow it the federal government has made it illegal to possess in any quantity for any reason.
