keep it moisturized but the skin is dead so it will eventually peel off. If there is something out there I would be interested to know as well.

due to the greenhouse effects in our atmosphere, the power of the sun is intensified, those who don't normally burn will burn and those that burn easily can fry. NEVER go out in the sun with out sunscreen and when around water apply it every thirty minutes. That said, you have damaged your skin, it needs to go thru a healing process if you haven't damaged it permanently, part of that process is sloughing off the dead cells at the surface, frankly, you'd better hope you peel, if you don't it means the damage is likely permanent, and then you get to watch for signs of skin cancers. You can minimize the appearance of the peeling by using a good oil free moisturizing agent under sunblock.

Take some painkiller like Advil or Tylenol. Then gently apply white vinegar with cottonballs all over your face, let dry. This stops your face from burning even more. My friend and I both went to the beach together, we both burned, she came home and put white vinegar all over herself and ended up with a tan...I didn't b/c I didn't believe her...and I ended up with the burn. She was the one who hadn't been in the sun all year...I had already had a tan...so now I'm a believer. Also...Aloe Vera after sun gel with lidocaine or solarcaine...cools, minimizes swelling, and takes sting away! You may also need to see a dr if swelling gets too bad to rule out sun poisoning! Good luck!

I've found that the dramatically different lotion by Clinique works really well at healing a sunburn and preventing it from peeling
