There should be instant replay. There is already an umpire in a control booth looking at replays to check on the accuracy of the calls on field.

Some calls are too costly over 162 season to overlook. I don't know how they should start the implementation but it should at least start in the playoffs.

There are some really close/bad calls that must be reviewed, but games take too long, so I'd recommend a system like football's. Each team should get a limited number of challenges that they could use (1 or 2 would be best). This prevents games with replay after replay while still allowing for bad calls to be overturned. However, I wouldn't let the challenges be used for strike vs. balls. Every ump has a slightly different strike zone, so a replay would just be too controversial.

I would also support other forms of limited replays. For instance, some have suggested that replays should only be used to determine whether a home run actually cleared the fence or passed to the fair side of the foul pole.

I was actually thinking about this yesterday in fact. I always wondered if MLB would ever do this and it's funny it came up now. I think it's interesting but probably not in the best interest of teams. I mean depending on how people look at it, religion can play an important role in people's lives but having days dedicated is a little fuzzy. It is respectful don't get me wrong, but I don't think religion should be brought up in baseball games as people can be pretty disrespectful towards certain religious groups. Some might even boycott the games for example. Baseball games should just remain public, if someone passes away, a team should have a moment of silence and all but introducing faith days is a little silly. I'm Russian Orthodox for example but I wouldn't want the Blue Jays to have a "Russian Orthodox" night at the Roger's Centre. I mean it would really clash with baseball.

No. If you go to see baseball live, it's amazing how many calls the umps make and how many you would have to agree with. Just because there are TV cameras doesn't mean they are superior to the call on the field. Angels are deceptive and games are too long now as it is anyway. Some things that work well in other games just aren't the same in baseball -- and vice versa. Just consider the ump's performance in a game as part of the challenge to the two teams.

I absolutely believe that MLB should have instant replay. How many games do you see disputed calls with angry managers that totally lose their minds? These managers could just challenge the plays like in football. Some people say that it will hurt the integrity of the game, but why would gettting more calls right be a bad thing? Look how well it has worked out in football.

No. First, it won't ever happen because they already want the games to be faster. Second, it will hurt the integrity of the game further, which is already being hurt with interleague play, DH rule, playoffs, lowering of the mound, etc. Third, the umpire's union would fight it.

Yes but there should be limitations. NBA has the right idea with the replay at the buzzer. Perhaps doing it in crucial situations, close calls regarding homeruns, steals, tight plays. NOT for balls and strikes.

Ever heard the "talking heads" after a close play and the re-play? Many times they still can't get the calls.

Leave it as is. It has worked well for over a hundred years!

Disagree. Thats what umpires are for. It would also take way too long.
