I have a Intel Celeron D 2.8GHz PC with 14" Monitor. It uses about 180W of power on a 230V grid. My power bill isn't exactly home friendly now. I need to know if there is a Power Supply Unit that uses less power. One guy on a chat channel said his PC consumes power less than a light bulb. I really need away to lower my power bill. I use the PC a lot.

Thanks

check this link for a comparison, but power consumption is not only CPU and monitor...

For the monitor you should look into getting one of those LED backlit LCD monitors. I have the 24" LG model (chose it because it has 2 HDMI inputs in addition to DVI so I can play PS3 on it as well). According to my socket power meter, it only uses maybe 15-20 watts of power depending on how high the brightness is turned up.

lets see you use 230 volts and your power supply is using 180 watts...very interesting ..now lets see how much juice that you are consuming what we need to do is figure out how much juice is being used, lets picture it like a water hose.under 90 pounds of presure it will sling out how many gals of water in an hour. lets figure out how many Calculate it!
1. Enter your KWH charge: $/KWH
2. Enter your lamp wattage: watts
3. Enter your daily growing cycle: hours
4. Enter your total growing cycle: days

Your total cost: $
click on below link..at the bottom of that page is a calculator my kw hour is about 3 pennys here in south alabama so let me just..I figure it would cost me $3.88 for a month to run you pc now I do not lnow how much a KW of lectric costs where you is. so you will have to do yer own calcalating.
