As Christ said, it is not for you to know...so your question is rather moot.

Matthew 25:13- "Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming."

Either that, or your question is an intentional baiting of the religious people that you hate....your call.

It is occurring as we speak (or type).

I found the answer in the book explaining ALL of Revelations referenced below. You may have to read the book yourself to understand the answer:

In order to understand what John is presenting as “a place” where this “great battle” between Christ and the world ensues, it is imperative to understand what the word “Armageddon” means “in the Hebrew tongue. ”The word Armageddon is derived from “Mount Megiddo,” Har Megido in Hebrew. This was the ancient site of the Great Battle of Megiddo. This battle occurred circa 609 BC, between the armies of Egypt and the armies of the kingdom of Judah.

...
John borrows from a prophecy of Isaiah to illustrate this “place” where the “battle”between good (doing unto others as you would have them do unto you) and evil (not doing unto others) takes place.

...
The “place” where our choices are “gathered together” (our own Via Maris) is in our own conscience. In this quiet place, the word of truth meets up with the word of the world—this is the battlefield—yes, our own “Armageddon.” John uses the outcome of the battlefought at Mount Megiddo (“Armageddon”) to explain what occurs when the “battle” in our conscience takes place.

It's happening now! RUN!

Joking, if there is to be an Armageddon it will be constructed by those who think that "god wants them to do it". The bible talks about it, so they must fulfill the prophecy themselves or they'll look like idiots for following their bible.
