Go to the following link, http://www.crucial.com/uk they can do an on line check which will determine which ram your motherboard supports. They will recommend the optimum amount. You can order on line and although they are not the cheapest it is worth paying for good ram. They guarantee compatibility with your motherboard and give an excellent warranty. They lso give fitting instructions. I have used them many times and always been satisfied. Hope this helps.

Technically DDR Ram is SD RAM but (in theory at least) can perform twice as fast as it can two actions per clock cycle (hence double data rate). In practice (depending on the motherboard) expect anything from a 20-60% speed difference

Most modern boards now take DDR memory. You can mix and match memory but the computer will generally only perform as fast as the slowest memory chip installed. Check your motherboard manual and see what is the fastest memory you can put in.

Memory is so cheap these days it pays to put the fastest you can afford and a minimum of 1GB for better performance. (1GB of SDRAM would make windows perform far faster than just 256MB of DDR)

Depends on what type of open slots you have, their connectors are different.
But if you want faster performane the DDR is faster.

Most new systems require DDR2, SDRAM will not work in that motherboard.
