Kobe doesn't have what it takes to be a leader. He's a divisive egomaniac who's singlehandedly destroyed the Lakers. High school doesn't count in the real world and how long ago were those titles?

Kobe was not convicted of raping anyone, or am I wrong about that? I think that he was charged. Kobe is a leader, but his team is pretty weak. Smush Parker sat the bench for the Pistons a few years ago averaging 6 mins a game, but came right to the Lakers as their starting pg. Kwame Brown 7 pts and 5 rebs before coming to the Lakers. Luke Walton had a decent year. The only player on this team that could start for another team is Odom. Kobe is a basketball player, not a miracle worker. Lebron has Z (multi all star), Hughes (22 ppg for Wash), and Gooden (played well the last 3 years),

The Cavs would not have beaten the Suns. The only ones who say that Kobe's not a leader are the ones who point to the championships that he won, all of which involved Shaq, who then went on to win with the Heat. It's obvious that Shaq is also a leader, but he's won all of his titles with either Kobe or Dwayne Wade, both of whom are leaders in their own respect.
Kobe is still the best player in the NBA and has another 5 years, in my opinion, that he'll spend as the best. No one has been as consistently clutch as he has, and that's what makes for a leader. Whether people like him or hate him, they have to respect his game and what he's done for the league.

Kobe won 3 NBA Titles because of Shaq. Kobe is the best player in the league hands down. However I don't think that he can lead a team to another title.

Kobe said it best when he said that there are two types of leaders... the ones that are very vocal and slap you on the back and tell you "good job" or "we'll get them next time", and there are leaders like Kobe and Jordan that lead by example, and are very demanding of their team mates... Kobe is the FIRST one in the gym and the LAST one out, and he leaves it for the others to recognize that and follow his lead... the only one that did train with Kobe in that fashion was Caron Butler, and they traded him away and told Kobe afterward... Kobe, in my interpretation, sees the situation as "we are all professionals, if your game is weak, I'll let you know about it and it's up to you to do something about it"... but again, this is just my opinion...

Its really simple.... i just read a GREAT newspaper article on it as well.
Explain why all of the ex lakers who have left since the championship days (and phil jackson as well...) say that kobe has never been a leader to the team, and all have negative things to say about him?
you cant honestly say that Malone, Atkins, Oneil, Payton, Horry, Fisher, Fox, George, Jackson, and about 5 more are all in a conspiracy or just wrong..... thats blasphemous and fanatacism...
he won 3 NBA titles, with 4 future HOF players.... and hasnt made it past the first round since.... that should say something about his leadership.... Especially since he pushed all 4 out of LA....
Kobe bryant thinks that being a good passer just means giving your teammates a shot from time to time... but theres much more to it. Steve Nash could pull of 20+ assists as he does now, even with the laker team... the biggest difference between kobe and nash, is nash KNOWS his teammates, and knows where they are good from, and how he can help them... Kobe thinks Odom is a good shot from the 3 wing....... and blames him when he misses.... ODOM IS A PF!!!! NOT A SG!!!!!
Kobe is a scorer, thats it. He is not a leader.

Kobe is an ***....How is he a leader when he says he wants traded and says he needs some support. I remember 1 month ago everyone said lebron needed help what did he do he made his teamates help him...He didnt go to the media say I want traded then say naw...I love the lakers then say I dont want to be there nothing can change my mind then uhh phil and I talked and Everything is ok...I mean seriously how is that being a leader....thats called being a punk who needs slapped. Yes he is a great player yes he carries his team but no he is not a leader nor a role model. to say kobe bryant is a leader is to say barry bonds is doing everything legit. The lakers fans I feel sorry for them paying to watch someone whom is so self centered is sick.

he did win hs state championship, but a team with one dominate star can do that easily.
The 3 nba titles were done on SHAQ"S watch.
Now Kobe is the man and the face of his franchise, and he has produced nothing but 81 points and some playoff losses.
