In a DELL that was shipped with PC2700 memory, can PC2100 memory be used?

You should but I don't know why you would. It can run either one or the other. You can both at the same time because it will not run different speeds at the same time. I say keep the 2700 because it runs faster compared to the 2100.

my memory stick says pc 333/266 .. 2700/2100.. it is a 512 stick...so either will work.but get the fastest your board can handle. the higher the number the higher the speed.and get two.1 gig sticks if you can afford it..or at least two, 512 sticks..
