I understand why they'd separate her because other inmates may pose a very real threat to her. However, I also understand why she should be with all of the other inmates.

Yes it's fair. It has nothing to do with money. Cops who go to jail get the same thing. Charles Manson has his own cell. Why is everyone so jealous of Paris Hilton? She is just a spoiled brat. She has never hurt anyone. The streets are filled with pedophiles looking for some child to molest because he got out of jail and promised he would never do it again. I have taken the bars off my windows now that Paris is in jail.

A prison warden said she would be given no special treatment ( really ).
I think she should do her time and shut up about it. How embarrassing to be locked up. Well it is for some people.
Anyway I thought she was " special needs " she can't do her own shoe can she. Wasn't it in the news around the same time she was out and about on the tiles ( well where else ) and she actually paid the toilet attendant to re-do her shoes. Now that is special needs

Actually, most So. CA prisons operate this way. The rich pay for their bed and board while they're incarcerated. The alternative is that they are in the general population and the taxpayer pays. And I don't want to pay to feed Paris Hilton, so I have no problem with her staying in special needs.

As much as it sickens me, I have to agree that she would be in a very high risk situation, if she were kept with the "General Population". Same as police officers etc., they are not under a death sentence, but in GP, they would be. I will be honest, I have no interest in people like Hilton, and have no idea what she is charged with.

Of course it is not fair. She is an American citizen who should follow the laws of her country. She hasn't, showed little care with the consequences. Fine, let her behave like that. But what is not fair is that obviously money has changed hands and now the little princess is getting special treatment (and a halved sentance).

No, but put it this way. All of us are entitles to the protection of the law no matter what we have done. High profile figures I feel have a special duty to obey the law "Nobelsse Oblige" I think it called (I've spelt it incorrectly). however their high profile means that they probably need special protection and it should be given. nevertheless I do not think that their actual living conditions should be any better or worse than say Maggie Arkwright a fictional average offender

Yes. Prison is part of the punishment an it must fit the crime and the person. Better leave such things to people with some knowledge and experience. And elementary common sense.
