I'm 16 years old and I recently sent out a request on yahoo answers that if anyone wanted to be my friend, to just send me a request. I also gave the address to my page, which a person could just click on. Well I was VERY surprised when I got a message from this person saying that I was ugly and I was devastated. This person is also 16 and his profile looks really messed up I mean hes very emo-ish (lol). But anyways I couldn't believe it! I have NEVER been called ugly in my life only pretty, even strangers have told me that I'm pretty and my friends say that I'm pretty and good looking also. I have blonde hair, blue eyes and am skinny, I really am pretty but I have no clue why this person would randomly send this message?? why?????

Well, what did you expect when you sent out a message to anyone who wanted to could contact you.
Not a bright thing to do hon. See, in addition to getting the attention you WANTED, you also got a lot of UNWANTED attention - not just from nice folks - but from jokers like this one.
But that's not the point. All you can do is get over it. Realize that just because you are pretty in many people's eyes - (and I'm sure you are indeed a pretty girl) you will not be pretty to EVERYONE.
But what is more important is broadcasting your personal contact information is dangerous. Perverts and weirdos can find you on the "net" - and then they will stalk you in the flesh. It's really not a good idea to be that available.
so you may wish to change your contact information - and be a lot more choosy on who gets it.

Some of the people who give answers sometimes are very insulting in Yahoo which is very annoying. Maybe this individual gets a cheap high from name calling which is immature and not to know you at all makes me think DUH!
If you react to what a cynical individual has to say than you are controlled and your power has been taken away. Some people's kids have no better things to do and continue to be a low life.

Girl .. grow up ... Everyone has a different idea of beauty .. To some you would be the most beautiful creature on earth and to some you would be damn ugly .. It doesnt depend on what others think ... Make sure u know how you look in ur own eyes ... Otherwise all ur life u wud b trying to please others ... If some1 says ur ugly .. Think that according to them ur ugly ... Just like that guy was emo-ish according to u! Maybe that guy wud b thought abt as different by others ...

Because you are pretty & he probably wanted to get a rise out of you since he figured that you've never been called ugly before.. Believe it or not, (I believe it), there are people on here with nothing better to do than torment people lol

Don't let it get to you! This person is jealous because he could never land a girl like you. You are only 16, you will have plenty more insults that you will need to get over. Don't let the little things get you down.
