I am 37 weeks and 4 days and the doctor just examined my cirvex and I am not dialted at all :( I've had some pretty strong contractions here and there but obviously nothing too serious. Also the baby has dropped and she said the head was very low. Is there anything that I can do to help this move along faster? Thanks in advance!

I would have sex and walk and do lots of squats. The excercise ball works too. Sometimes you just don't dialate quickly. I am 39 1/2 weeks and have been at a 1 for like 3 weeks now. I have thinned out though. I am 40% effaced. Good Luck. Try all that stuff and it might help.

I was in your exact situation with my son. I had contractions every 2-5 mins that would go off the monitor & I never dialated. This lasted for 3 days. Finally my doctor did an emergency c-section. You can walk, go up & down stairs, have sex, eat spicy foods. There are some women that will not dialate. No females on my mom's side ever did they all had to be induced. Good luck.

Everyone is different! I started labor LAST WEEK and have been 2 1/2 cm -2 station and 80% effaced, been having regular contractions everyday and still nothing. I have done everything I walk around the mall everyday, drink raspberry leaf tea, and have sex with me husband every night and still nothing. I think it just depends on when your lil one is ready to come out sorry to say but hang in there and good luck!

Waiting is the hardest thing to do when you are pregnant. You just cannot wait to meet that new little one. But that is about all you can do. Keep busy with hobbies. Take a walk. There are no tried and true ways to start labor....the baby is coming out when it is ready to.
Congratulations, you will be a mommy before you know it. When they turn 13 you will wish you could put them back in....lol

Just keep moving, taking walks, swimming or other moderate exercise you enjoy.

My midwife prescribed Red Raspberry Leaf capsules for me in the last weeks of pregnancy. I had lots of Braxton-Hicks contractions and went into labor at 38 weeks.

It helps many women, but not all.

Best of luck!

If you have a yoga exercise ball, squat on that and roll your hips... I did this when I was in labor and dialated from a 2 to an 8 in less than an hour!

Walk, walk, and walk. It worked for me, anyway. No need to do the speed-walking thing, just strolling can work wonders.

...beware, however, the heat and dehydration. Drink LOADS of water and don't walk during the hottest part of the day - mornings and evenings are great.

Good luck!
