All spiders produce webbing, but they don't all use it in the same way. Large spiders don't tend to spin webs and sit in them like the small spiders do. If you have a pet tarantula you will often find, in time, that webbing will start to appear in it's terranium.

Yes, but the type of web depends on the spider. For instance, ground dwellers will spin webs over the entrance of the burrow. When an insect walks by and moves the web the spider grabs it.
