He didn't say "I got it" he said "hey" or "ha" and the slow motion replay backs that up. The rookie 3rd baseman thought he heard his teammate yell "mine" and backed off. I see nothing wrong with A-Rod's actions. It happens to him 3-4 times a week and it's never an issue. Shame on the rookie for not knowing better. I don't view this incident as "Bush" league as there are other deceptive things that go on in the game and are considered a part of it even though an 'unwritten' rule of what is not good sportsmanship ie:stealing signs, sliding into 2B with spikes up to break up a double play, mowing down the catcher when there's a play at the plate to make him drop the ball, outfielders pretending to catch a fly ball so the runner won't advance. So with that being said,I fail to see the difference between those things and what Arod did.

I didn't see anything wrong with that... The 3rd baseman should have been calling it in the 1st place and easily called off whoever may have been around him. Regardless it was a lack of communication on the Royals.. I played Shortstop and if he called it and I was the SS I would have been saying yours immediately.. It was a routine pop up.. It's such crap that he is getting such bad publicity because of it... If it's anyone else the subject would have been dropped already..
No one complained about Mike Lowell Lowering his shoulder into Robinson Cano. Of course not why cause supposedly thats part of the game... Lowell gave himself up then last second plowed him over so he couldn't turn the double play.
I think what Arod did is just part of baseball and I'm sure it happens all the time, the KC 3rd baseman is just a moron for falling for it.

Part of the game is deception. The play that A-Rod made works once every 10 years or so. Players do it all the time. Shows A-Rod knows how to play is all and while it makes the Toronto player look like a fool, stuff like this happens all the time. Great play from a great player. If Jeeter did it, ESPN would be calling it the play of the century.

I am divided on this topic because on one hand I think A-Rod does a lot of bush league stuff during games and this to me at first fell into that category. On the other hand I have seen several players on many teams fake out a runner on a hit-and-run by making it seem like they are going to get the throw and make a play so the runner then slides into second. When in actuality the ball has been hit for a single and said runner could have probably made it to third if not for being faked into sliding. That play is usually called heads-up baseball while this was called cheap. I honestly don't see anything wrong with the play (I mean in hockey you try to yell stuff to get the opposing player to think you're on his team and pass you the puck)...I think it is just who did it is why there is such and issue.

It was a trick that works about once every 5,000 times someone tries it.
I don't get these pansies that say it's a dangerous safety issue. Nobody was in danger of getting hurt on that play. These are the same senseless clowns that think A-Rod should get plunked for what he did. No safety issue there.

How can it be his fault? It's not like he's looking down for who's saying it, he's staring straight up into the air. If he hears "I got it!" He's going to back off. Rodriguez is a punk, and he just keeps on proving it.

just to let all you douchebags know, he said "MINE" as it was seen and heard on a replay during a blue jays game. 100% bush league a rod should play with little kids if he wants to win a ballgame. And FYI, the third baseman was just called up from the minors to fill in for an injured 3rd baseman and he didnt know whether it was a-rod's voice or the shortstops so STFU the yanks are going to keep losing a rod cant fool everybody with his stupid and gay tactics

No, it was a horrible lack of respect for the game. Someone could have been hurt. If every player acted like that they would never finish a game.
