And what type of Initiation things did you have to do?

I didn't, but at least 3 friends of mine did. (They weren't called sororities, just "social groups" because they didn't have a national charter.) My roommate was a Phi-Omega as was another friend. For 4 days they could only dress in red, not shower, barely sleep, make placemats for the cafeteria for their "moms" and fetch food and drinks for them, do their laundry, etc.. They got ordered around a lot. Whatever a member wanted, the pledge had to do. Another friend was a Delphi and it included all of the above including paddling.

For guys, a group called the Milts had you roll around in manure and not shower for days. Another guy who pledged Delts had to jump over an open fire pit. He fell in, got 3rd degree burns, and had to drop out for a year to heal.

If that's not hazing, I'm not sure what is.

I'm in a sorority. Joining was one of the best decisions of my life. Initiation is ritual, which is secret. We can't tell you.

There has been absolutely no hazing in my chapter. At my school there is even a 24 hour hazing hotline. Most schools are very strict with hazing policies. The national organizations of sororities are also very strict with hazing policies. Some chapters do get away with it though. Local chapters (which aren't part of the 26 sororities that belong to the National Panhellenic Conference) that don't have a National Headquarters to answer to probably have more of a tendency to haze, but I would say the majority of sororities don't haze.

I'm an alumnus of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. Initiation is secret, only meant for brothers and new members. As far as hazing is concerned, I was not hazed at all. My fraternity does not tolerate any kind of mental, physical or psychological type of hazing. If you are rushing a greek organization, good luck!

confident, there's a 'partying' stigma linked to Greek companies yet finally they seem to be a great thank you to fulfill new human beings and grow to be in touch alongside with your college community. additionally, being in touch in a company including a Sorority/Fraternity seems great on job purposes. maximum folk do no longer connect Greek companies completely to occasion.
