Let me correct your Question first. The year must be 1965.
It was started by Pak...(India Never Starts a War) and within 15 days Pak lost it miserably. Shashtriji (Lal Bahadur) was the P.M. All the 3 Forces have fought excellently. Our Army was given full cover by the AirForce. The so called Pak occupied Kashmir too would have occupied by our Army but for the cease fire and Tashkent agreement. We won the war.
But our Lal Bahadur Shashtri lost his life in Russia after the Tashkent Agreement Talks... left us a slogan "Jai Jawan Jai Kisan".

India Won, Pakistan lost
Maj. General M. Khan of Pakistan wrote in his book
'Crisis of Leadership' about the bravery of the Sikh
soldiers during the Indo-Pak war.
Here are some excerpts from the book:
"the main reason of our defeat was Sikhs fighting
facing us. We were helpless to do anything in front of
them. Sikhs are very brave and they have a great
craving for martyrdom. They fight so fiercely that
they are capable of defeating an army many times
bigger than theirs."
"Alas, a handful of Sikhs converted our great victory
into a big defeat and shattered our confidence and
courage. ."
"The same thing happened with us in Dhaka(Bangladesh).
In the battle of Jaissur, the Singhs opposed the
Pakistani army so fiercely that our backbone and our
foothold was lost. This became the main and important
reason of our defeat and the Sikhs' fancy for
martyrdom and mockery with death for the sake of
safety and honour of the country, became the sole
cause of their victory
.

Why maximum of folk are asking approximately threat of an Indo-Pak war now-a-days ? My answer is not any. the two aspects are starting to be lots warmth, just to divert human beings's techniques from their failures. Pakistani authority is doing so as they have did no longer attempt against Talibans in FATA & terrorists of their own usa. their own media is fearing that Swat has long previous to Talibans' hand. additionally those days a survey confirmed thet acceptance of Zardari has dipped. Indian authority is doing so becoz they have pathetically did no longer assure protection of trouble-free human beings. After Mumbai attack, human beings have been very offended on those politicians, so they needed something to divert human beings's techniques to conceal their failures. So, don't be fooled by using their traps.

Pakistan reached 20 miles from Srinagar in a hope to capture Jammu & Srinagar. India realising a weak front in Kashmir opened a new frontier and were virtually near Lahore at a stone's throw within their grasp where Pakistan did not have any defence. Rann of Kutch area almost in control with India. All the lives wasted, arms given by America to Pakistan gone waste, lost trust of Pakistan's friendship, China offered lips service to Pakistan to defend East Pakistan as a token of new friendship. It is a saying "Enemy of enemy is my friend", India had just finished war with China over Bhutaan and Sikkim in 1963. In short lot of casualties and blow to India. A new mediator jumped in, Russia. The president of Pakistan was Army General & C-in-C, also Chief Martial Law Administrator brought the legacy of dictatorship in Pakistan, and Lal Bahadur Shastri, the Indian Prime Minister were invited to Tashkent to reconcile. With this agreement, both the armies retreated to all the fronts to their actual positions prior to the war. So all gone waste on both sides, no one revealed the actual figures of their dead but only misled the public on both sides that they won and started awarding medals and naming roads and buildings to liven the names of their dead heroes with no monetary assistance to their families.Actually no one won, lost every thing what both had accumulated over the years from America, China and Russia. The only visible sad result came to light, a very intelligent and sincere prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri lost his life of heart attack in Tashkent and a new leader Z.A. Bhutto was born who formed Peoples Party later whose daughter became prime minister of Pakistan. It was the Tashkent Agreement which encouraged him and threatened to disclose the clauses to the Pakistani nation, upon this he got sack by the Army Dictator and years later became a popular leader of Pakistan. So that was the result of 1965 war. Please do not ask me what happened in the next war and the next after. It will go on and on and on. The reasons behind all the diplomacy is no one wants to leave the chair on either side, when it is shakey, they jump into war. At least this is happening eversince in Pakistan. We have witnessed it 1965, we saw it in 1972-73, we saw it in Kargal and soon we will see again before Pervaiz Musharraf's exit.

friend ,
what is your question?
There was no Pakistan in 1065.
So if you imagined a war , you can imagine the result also.
Please kindly re-post the question correctly.
