Perhaps not quite, but they did often go to enormous lengths to repay those who saved their lives.

Most cases in Mythology are extreamly exagerated. There are few that are not completely exagerated, yet they are still not intirly the truth as well. Im sure there where some who did so. Back then when mythology was in the making people might have been "Barbaric" but they had a sence of Honor we no longer have in our society today.
