Ok, here are several things about this. First of all, did you know for a fact that you were pregnant, or were you just assuming that you were?
When you started your period, was it just blood, or did anything accompany it?
I am starting to have a feeling that you were not pregnant.
If you were pregnant, the odds are great you will bleed for around 10 days. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to ease your mind a bit, and go to the ER. I am strongly feeling that you were not pregnant though.
On another note, I would like to suggest soemthing. If you guys are so broke that you don't have any food in the house, please, find a way to get some condoms. Dont' have unprotected sex, and risk bringing an innocent child into such poor surroundings. That isn't very mature.
I am also wondering how old you are. And, if you are working, and make enough to not qualify for medicaid, then why aren't you insured, and how can you not afford one visit to a doctor? I am not trying to judge you, just understand.
Whatever the case, I hope you start thinking about your future, and make the changes you need for a better life.

Hi, mija --
I'm sorry for your pains, that sounds terrible.
First thing to do is this, call your OB/Gyn if you have one, or the ER if you don't, and describe what is going on; they will tell you if you need to be seen. Then, if you are miscarrying, you can go in. But if you let it go on for more than a few days and you are pretty sure you were pregnant, then you should be seen.
I'm a recent MD grad, and there's a little known fact about most hospitals. They will bill you, but they do not expect to get paid back if you make under a certain amount. Here's what you do. Go in to the ER. Someone will come in and take all of your info, or you will give it at a desk. Get the medical stuff dealt with, because you can get a terrible infection that can make you unable to have kids later (or worse), and you really, really don't want to go that way.
After it's all dealt with, as soon as you are feeling better, go to the hospital's financial assistance department (they might have some other name for it, but that's what ours is called). Usually they have some kind of paperwork for you to fill out.
But the bottom line is this.
You can't get blood from a stone, or money from someone who doesn't have it, and hospitals know this.
It is also immoral and illegal to deny care to someone who urgently needs it.
And you may then urgently need it.
Please call a doc to get some help. And I'm so sorry for your loss.
I hope you are okay. I'm thinking of you.
Email me if you have any other questions, I don't mind. Davisju_@yahoo.com
Take care,
Julie

Ok first medicare is for old people. It is medicaid. And you dont have to work to qualify though you do have to be pregnant or have children. If you thought that you were pregnant and you started bleeding then you either got your period late or you are having a miscarriage. You should go to the emergency room if you are soaking through a maxipad in less than hour. Also if you are having clots that arent normal. Well I hope this helps.

a trip to the emergency room would not be appropriate at this point anyway. For the discomfort, you need to take Ibuprofen, 800 mg every six hours, use a heating pad on your abdomen, and rest. If your bleeding doesn't stop in the ordinary amount of time for one of your periods, and the pain persists more than three days, then you would want to seek medical attention. Most county hospitals will treat you regardless of your ability to pay because they are state supported, find one in your phone book.

You are afraid that you will be stucked up with all the bills and that you have lost pregnancy.
If you just had your menstruation, then you are not pregnant. The pain you are feeling might be from some other condition.. It could be stress from thinking too much.

If I understand your math equation, you were probably just a week late on your period. Many things could cause that: a cold or flu, stress, prescriptions, etc.

I'm pretty sure if you got your period you aren't pregnant, and if you're working how do you have no money?
