any burn responds best to cold. Suck on a popsicle, or ice cube for twenty minutes every hour.

anbesol will work. cold milk will work if u stick ur tongue in a glass. putting sugar on ur tongue will help restore the taste buds since u most likely burned some. its normal if you burn ur tngue severly enough for it to hurt a day later. check the temp of ur drink with ur face first. if u stick ur face really close and it makes steam on it or makes it uncomfortably warm, its still too hot. there is always sticking ur pinkie finger in. its not gross if its ur own pinkie unless there is someone in it, then ewww. lol. later.

A really easy way to deal with this is to buy orajel or anbesol. They taste gross, but you can put them right on your tongue and roof of your mouth, and they will numb it right up. They have a similar medicine in them as the one a dentist uses when he/she fills your teeth, only it goes right on the sore spot instead of needing to be injected. Chloraseptic throat spray works, too. Popsicles are a second choice, but they don't work as well.
Good luck,
J
PS, as with any burn, putting ice on 20 min on, 20 min off, wrapped well in a baggie with cold water to distribute the cold, works well to diminish both swelling and pain, if you hadn't already tried it!

Medical studies shown that men's tounge have a different enzyme produced than women's. This particular enzyeme is particular helpful in wounds or surface burns. The best remedy for a tounge burn would therefore be tounge-to-tounge contact along with circular swirling actions. Now you are armed with this fact, let me take care of that little owie you got..

Get some aloe vera juice, you could swish it around in your mouth every couple of hours. Most good health food stores carry it these days. It will help speed up the healing process.
