It won't cost anything if you do it yourself, probably $50 to have a shop do it. They will greatly appreciate your business.

PC shops here get $50 an hour.

I rebuild PC's hard drives all the time. A straight reformat only takes a few minutes. A complete "wipe" can take several hours depending on the size of the hard drive, and the wiping software being used.

If you are fairly familiar with PC's you can completely wipe your hard drive with a little program called Kill Disk. You can get Kill Disk at http://www.download.com

Than all you have to do is put your XP disk in the drive and reboot your PC. Allow XP to reformat your hard drive and allow XP to install itself. It's all pretty simple.

Hope this helps.

The shop I worked at would charge you $55 an hour. You are better off going online and finding fdisk, it's free and it will walk you through wiping out your hard drive and re-formatting it so you can use it again with a clean image.
You will need to delete the partitions, then create a new partition, after that format and your ready to go .

You don't have an XP disk, so buy an upgrade.

All the tools you need are included with XP.

BTW, most ligit tech companies WON"T install pirated XP ever.
