couple of ways...

flip it over and bang it to dump out all of the old bagel and toast crumbs in there.

compressed air: blow it out...
pop off every key and put the keys into a dishwasher (in some sort of a cage to keep them from ending up all over the place)

buy a new keyboard for 10 bucks.

For the top of the keys use a slightly damp clothe. Do not let water drip into the keyboard. Just slightly damp. Same for around the rest of the keyboard case. For between the keys get a can of compressed air (About $5 at Wal-mart in the computer section)

DO NOT USE ANYTHING WET. it will screw up your keyboard. you can use a dry cloth, paper towel, etc. But if you want to get a deep clean, use the commercaily available cans of air, or if you know someone with an air compressor, just use short bursts, or the keys could pop off.

You can often find keyboard cleaning kits. I bought mine at Wilkininsons, but eBay will probably do some. Or if you're not into internet shopping then search a local computer goods shop on google for ideas.xxx good luck hunaii

never use any solvents on your keyboard,it can damage eletrical contacts and in some cases burn the plastic keys
a solution of bicarbonate of soda is a excellent cleaning aid, especially good for keyboards and t.f.t monitors, use in a spray bottle to give good cleaning area
another good product for cleaning p.c,s is compressed air in a aerosol(http://www.consumables.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=300012),this is used by most p.c technicians as it contains no solvents and is good for "blasting" grease and dust from all parts of the computer including fans, keyboards, mice, and even motherboards, however allways follow the manufacturers guidelines
i hope this helps
good luck!

Go to a staples store or somewhere like that and buy you a can of duster, its only like 4 or 5 dollars. And if something is spilled on the keyboard I would sugest buying a new one. They are fairly inexpensive.

Pop out all of the keys and clean them with a clorox wipe. You can clean the rest of the keyboard while they're popped out too.

(You can pop them out with a screw driver or fingers nails or something, something to use as a lever)

dust it with something like a swifter duster and there is a small brush you can buy that gets between the keys...you can also use a mouth piece brush as i was told by a guy at office depot.
