First off, no one's getting amnesty. Amnesty is a pardon, the immigration bill is not. It requires the head of household to go back to their country to apply for legal status (which can take up to 13 years) and pay a fine. That is not a pardon, so this question is kind of irrelevant.
One argument for amnesty (if that were being proposed) is that once they're in, they're in. It would cost millions to find a deport people, so what we've got to do is focus on keeping others out. Illegal immigrants don't cost the federal government as much as you might think - they effect local government, which is probably why the federal government doesn't care that much. The fact of the matter is, some say, is that we just cannot keep taking on the number of immigrants that we are because of sheer space, therefore, stopping them from coming in should be the focus, rather that looking to deport.

Because they are here, they are working, and we need them.
No part of any plan includes blanket amnesty for all illegals. The main plan being floated includes a provision for employed illegals to stay here and convert to legal status (at a financial penalty).
The reason for this approach is because our immigration laws and policy have not kept up with the needs of the country. Our economy needs immigrants because we can not sustain the growth on the just the worker population that is born here. So there are really two reasons for illegal immigration, poor border control and jobs. We can tighten the border control. But if we do not allow the working people to stay and enough workers in legally in the future, then we all suffer.

professional's ......Oh, i understand, they are able to have a criminal foothold in the rustic so they are able to help greater illegals get rights while they arrive, in basic terms like the amnesty in 1986 did for those ones. this is a stable factor surprising? (Sarcasm) Cons: See above, no longer Sarcasm. Cultural invasion. motivate voters to declare the h**l with the guidelines they of course do no longer matter.

although i'm not 100 percent behind the idea, the advantage is that their children would be given better opportunities. Studies show that while first generation immigrants, illegal or not, tend to pay disproportionately less amount of their "fair share" in taxes and contribute less to the economy. The second generation, regardless if they're illegal or not, actually contribute very highly to society both economically and socially. If they're going to be here anyways, i think we should approach the situation with a more long term vision.

None.
(1) The US government won't be able to tax them, since their income is already much lower than the "very low income" level.
(2) Once they are legalized, they have to be paid at minimum wage, which completely defeat the purpose of hiring the illegal immigrants in the first place. In another word, it is very possible that they will become jobless once they are legalized... You all know what it will translates into once they become citizens of the US.
(3) Will they be able to afford the medical insurance in the US? If not, who will pay for their medical needs? enough said.

The ONLY advantage that I could even begin to see is that they'd finally be paying taxes. Of course, they'll end up reaping all of the benefits that is sucking this system drier and drier.

we get to collect revenue in the form of fines, and they get legalize their status. I mean, the fact that they were illegal before didn;t stop them. At least now they can rest easy at night, and we can get some money. I can tell you the cons of letting them be legal, and that is we will have to pay out in social programs now, where before they paid the taxes, and couldn't receive any benefits. NOW they get to reap the rewards of paying taxes, and that will end up costing us more.

Pros?
Well, the illegals get to be rewarded for their criminal activity. But that is the only reward I see.
