-12=5r+8
add 12 to both sides
0 = 5r + 20
subtract 20 from both sides
-20 = 5r
divide both sides by 5
-4 = r

This is easy. Another in the head math. Think and look at what you have.
Answer is "Negative" 12
8 is "Positive"
5 is "Positive"
So, "R" has to be a negative number because the answer is -12 not, not +12
So, -12+8 = 20 which means 5 has to be multiplied by a "Negative " number to be 20. In the head easy to do 5 x -4
So R=-4
I explain this so you can learn, actually it happens in about 15 seconds in the head and no calculations.
These problems will become so easy for you. You can almost work it as fast as a person can say it.

So, -12=5r+8
r= -4
That fast.

In this case, you are trying to isolate r on one side of the equation.

You can do this by doing the same calculation on both sides of the equation that systematically removes terms until you are only left with r.

So, in this case, start by subtracting 8 from both sides of the equation. That gives you:

-12-8 = 5r+8-8 or
-20 = 5r

Now, divide both sides by 5 in order to isolate r. Now, you get:

-20/5=5r/5 or
-4=r

Come on, thats kids stuff !!

-12 = 5r + 8
5r = 8 + 12
5r = 20
r = 20/5
r = 4

huh...
im not sure wat u mean, its a equation

if u wanna solve it, its like dis
-12=5r+8
-12-8=5r
-20=5r
r=-20/5
r=-4
