Yes, in two close games, the Spurs lost giving Cleveland the 2-0 advantage in the first half of the season. The Spurs played Cleveland the second game of the 2006-2007 regular season and lost a close game. Then, the Spurs before midseason played Cleveland and lost a close game which started a 10-10 slide for the Spurs as the Spurs caught fire the last third of the season as they put their player rotation together, and, more importantly to some Spurs players shooters like Michael Finley and Robert Horry (actually the Spurs just use Horry for defense, rebounding, and to play center off of the bench and not for his offense), the decades old leather ball came back the second half of the NBA season replacing the first generation "P.C." synthetic ball (probably to get India as part of the global NBA market if the truth were told why the synthetic ball was adopted by the NBA at the beginning of the 2006 season).

The only trend I noticed from those two Cleveland victories was that Cleveland could not stop Tony Parker, and, in one of the games Tim Duncan had one of his best games of the year while LeBron picked up his normal 20 plus points and 6 rebounds a game.

The Spurs team has been the hottest team in the last third of the regular season and in the playoffs with an entirely different player rotation than used in the two early season loses to Cleveland.

So, it will be an interesting series.

NBA history says that no young superstar without another superstar on the team has ever won a NBA title.

...but, the NBA Commissioner is into global marketing, so only he knows who has won the 2007 NBA Finals as of this date.

The Cavs shut down the Spurs going 2-0 in the regular season against them[88-81 and 82-78]. While the Spurs are a better team in the playoffs the Cavs are a much better team than they were at the beginning of the season.

Cleveland in 6.

Oh yes and Duncan was supremely posterized. They went 2-0. To say it won't or can't translate to now would be a slap to Golden State. Remember the it doesn't matter attitude everyone had about the Mavs and it really did matter. If you know a team to an extent then its an advantage.
