It's looks like the Al Queda/Iran backed insurgents have slaughtered the other two American soldiers that were captured. What should be done about this?

Some of you may not like reading this, but as a Muslim, we are mandated to spread the religion of truth. The infidels have only two options: Covert to Islam or be slaughtered. The concept of "Live and let live" is a Western one, rejected by the Muslim faith. To live by the sword and die by the sword is a basic tenant of our belief. In Christian terms, think of the Inquisition, the Crusaders - these were Holy institutions in their own times, notwithstanding if you agree or disagree with their methods and actions. In Jewish terms, think of when Joshua led the Israelites into Palestine and slaughtered the indigenous nations. That's recorded in the Bible, and viewed favorably!! So please be more open minded about the ways of Islam. When you are slaughtered, realize that it is nothing personal.

The question isn't what 'should' be done...it is more a question of what 'can' be done...and I think that greater minds than ours have been deliberating over that for a few years now. The fact is that the 'terrorists' of the world we now live in are borderless patriots - so we cannot/should not invade a country to fight them. They have a commitment to their cause that surpasses any that the western world has ever known. They do not conform to any standards of decency or conventions of war....so we cannot be prepared for the imaginations of their attacks.
American indignance is not going to help this time...and won't, any time in the future. Pride needs to be swallowed and a new attitude adopted if they think they can beat the 'enemy' in this case. We are in a new phase in our world's history...and it is not being led by the freedom of the West. In fact, the west is the target - for the first time in the world's history. America is no longer in the driver's seat...

think we should return the favor and do the same thing but by ten fold.... slaughter Al Queda insurgents on the spot leave them to rot in the sun shoot anyone who help try and move them

by all means let stay there. After all, our presence in Iraq has been a boon to Al Qaeda. there recruitment is skyrocketing, they have been elevated from lowly criminals to noble holy warriors and they are still planning attacks on us soil such as the most resent on at JFK airport.

I find the silence of the "good muslims" is quite defining.
If they expect to grow and be respected they must throw off their 6th century mindset and turn in those that have caused so much pain and distrust in this world.
God IS watching... and he's not happy.

what should be done and what will be done are totally different, unfortuantely most of the airheads in this country dont seem to think we have a problem over there and that soldiers are dying for nothing, but in reality theres a war out there that is inevitable, but as long as the liberals are around we'll have to be nice to suicide bombers...

How about getting the hell out of the middle east!
The problem with them is that they want a fight with the "big dog". That is what they are looking to do. They want to prove themselves worthy, or die a martyr. Either way, they see themselves winning.
Nothing is going to please extremists. They want their way or no way - that is why they are called extremists.
