The writing books that helped me the most are:
Blockbuster Plots: Pure & Simple
The Writer's Journey
Setting (from the Writer's Digest Books series)
Character & Viewpoint (from the Writer's Digest Books series)
Query & Cover Letters (from Writer's Digest Books series)
Formatting & Submitting your Manuscript (from Writer's Digest Books series)
Writing Great Short Stories by Margaret Lucke (helps even with novel writing)
There are also some genre specific reference books in the Writer's Digest books. If you write mysteries, there's the Howdunit series that includes books on poisons and murder weapons.
The best place to get writing books is amazon.com. They always have every writing book in stock, as opposed to most local bookstores who only carry a few.

"Bird by Bird" by Anne Lamott. It has a lot of great information, but it's not as dry as some of the other writing books I have read lately.
