I would say its bad. It can give the child a major complex if it is said to often. Being called an accident gives the impression that you werent wanted, which can foster feelings of neglect and ultimately depression, especially if they are the middle child. There are much better terms, unplanned is even nicer. I think one of the problems is parents often times dont realize that kids hear EVERYTHING, and understand more than we give them credit for. Saying things like that can have a long term, lasting effect.

Kids should be treasured and if you don't want 'em don't do the dirty! simple! have you ever thought that when that child grows up how it'll feel?!? I'm an accident I'm not worthy-that's the message being sent to that child. calling someone an accident isn't fair and shouldn't be done.Simple as that!

on account that I relatively have honestly 'young ones' i will see the similarities of youngsters and young ones...to me there is not any longer something cuter than a toddler goat. yet, I do attempt to confer with human beings as 'infants', a lot is getting abbreviated now days, i'm attempting to entice on the brink of the unique state of issues.... there are a variety of of of alternative issues we are able to be called beside 'previous human beings' it relatively is only disrespectful (in my opinion) and exhibits a loss of information interior the english language. looks the extra youthful technology would not very own a competent dictionary to no longer point out a word record.

The only time that I have ever called a kid an accident was my brother. I would pick on him by telling him he was an accident, but I was planned. Right after my parents got married, my mom got an IUD, but it was recalled shortly after she got it. Once it was removed, my mom instantly got pregnant with my brother. It was unexpected. When my mom got pregnant with me, my parents had been trying for another child. So, of course with sibling rivalry, I had to pick on him about that. LOL But other than by me, my brother was never called an "accident". And no one in my immediate family has ever referred to a child as an "accident".

I understand what you are trying to say but never call a kid and accident because then you are saying they are unwanted. If I could make a suggestion I would say they were a surprise, or tell them they were an unexpected blessing

I use to tell my oldest son that.I regret it now.he thinks that I don't love him but I do.He almost died twice as a baby and I am blessed to see him turn 17.So I would tell anyone who has kids not to say that hurtful line about being an accident.

Try to imagine yourself in a kids place and you overheard your parents referriing to you as "The Accident". How would THAT make you feel? Of course it would be considered vulgar.

Personally I think its better to say they weren't planned, but make sure the child always knows how much the parents loved their surprise.
