I hav bought a new printer couple of days back and took some 20 text print out and 2 photos and now my printer showing 25% ink level. It was 100% when i first see the ink level before taking any print out. Is this the way all the printer consumes ink or i hav to make some settings to make it right?

I would expect a lot more prints ... are these 'starter' cartridges ? (i.e. ones with only tiny ammounts of ink in ?)

What does it say in the Manual ?

firstly, cartridges supplied with new printers are not full capacity ones. Secondly, you cannot gauge with accuracy how much printing you do. Depends on whether you are printing text, quality used, i.e. draft, best etc. colours, whether images are incorporated etc. A good idea is always to keep spare replacement cartridges in stock. When you put new ones in, make a note in your diary and then when that one is empty, note down how many weeks it has taken, so in future you have an approximation of how long they will last.

It really depends on how much you print and how often.
