My daughter is only 2 months old and she is exclusively breastfed. The other day I felt a little off, like I could be pregnant so I got a test. The test I took showed a very faint line, like you almost had to strain your eyes to see it. I'm gonna get a test that is more sensitive tonight. I know that it is very unlikely, right?

Breastfeeding does decrease the chances of becoming pregnant because the body is releasing a hormone that is inhibiting ovulation. However, this is not 100% full proof all the time as people have wide variations.

You're likely to be unable to become pregnant if you are continually breastfeeding (up to about 6 months), if you are not having sex (duh), or if your periods haven't returned yet.

I will echo what others have said...yes it's possible. Every woman is different, but it is possible.

With that being said...if you are indeed pregnant, do NOT let that stop you from continuing to nurse your current baby unless you had problems w/ miscarriages and/or preterm labor with your other pregnancies. If you had "problem-free" pregnancies before it is still safe to nurse your little one.

You will need to watch her output and her weight gain as pregnancy sometimes causes a supply decrease in some women. As long as she has 6-8 wet diapers a day and at least 1 dirty diaper every 12-14 days, she's getting enough. If you notice too little output and/or little to no weight gain, then you might need to supplement as your supply could be decreasing due to the pregnancy.

Many women nurse a child while being pregnant. It can be done and for most women it is safe.

Oh, it is entirely possible and quite likely. Right after giving birth you can actually be very fertile. Breastfeeding is no guarantee that you won't get pregnant. I would take that test and if it's positive get back into the doctor ASAP so that you can start getting monitored. Having pregnancies so close can be pretty tough on your body so take it easy and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

it is not that no longer likely. Breastfeeding isn't beginning administration, whatever you have heard. it may suppress ovulation, even though it does not continuously. I actually have a chum who breastfed her first infant completely and grow to be pregnant back by using her six week checkup. She did the same factor after that infant because of the fact she grow to be helpful she could no longer get pregnant two times mutually as breastfeeding...and he or she grow to be pregnant back by using the time her first infant grow to be 13 months and the 2nd grow to be 2 months.

I was the same way and when my daughter was 7 weeks old i ended up with another one on the way so now my 2 younger children are only 10 months apart. So it is possible. Good Luck!!

No its not unlikely at all- many people get pregnant when nursing even when you don't get a period. That is a myth that breastfeeding acts like a birth control.

Breastfeeding is not a form of birth control, so it's entirely possible.
