It already has an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 integrated into the motherboard. I've read somewhere that this should therefore leave some slot (sorry, forgot the name of the slot) open, allowing you to install a separate dedicated card.

Also, would it be worth it to do so in order to be able to play semi-new games on it? Processor is an Intel Core Duo processor T2250 (1.73GHz, 533 MHz FSB, 2MB L2 cache), ram - 1GB DDR2.

No, the existing GMA is soldered on to the motherboard and there is no internal PCI or AGP slot onboard.

Most laptops do not make good gaming machines.
