My daughter is only 2 months old and she is exclusively breastfed. The other day I felt a little off, like I could be pregnant so I got a test. The test I took showed a very faint line, like you almost had to strain your eyes to see it. I'm gonna get a test that is more sensitive tonight. I know that it is very unlikely, right?

Well that's a positive result. Although it's true that breastfeeding supresses ovulation, my doctor told me that there is a 5% chance of ovulating even while exclusively breastfeeding. Looks like you are part of that 5%. When I was nursing I still used protection just in case. I used ovulation tests and found I didn't ovulate until my daughter was 11 months.

It's not that unlikely. Breastfeeding IS NOT birth control, no matter what you have heard. It CAN suppress ovulation, but it doesn't always. I have a friend who breastfed her first baby exclusively and was pregnant again by her six week checkup. She did the SAME THING after that baby because she was sure she couldn't get pregnant TWICE while breastfeeding...and she was pregnant AGAIN by the time her first baby was 13 months and the second was 2 months.

it is uncommon to get pregnant while breastfeeding but not unheard of. Have u been using protection?
also, you normally wouldn't get a period after 2 months anyway, so that isn't necessarily a symptom. The faint line may be caused form hormones left over from your 2 month old. I would suggest getting a blood test, since it has only been that small amount of time that will prob. be the only way to tell.

I haven't, but my older sister did. My neice and nephew are 11 months and 2 weeks apart. You CAN get pregnant while breastfeeding. Only some women don't ovulate when breastfeeding, others do. My sister had a hard time when the two were young, but now that they are 8 and 9 it's much easier on her. If it does happen CONGRATS!! and Good Luck.

Alot of people have got pregnant while breast feeding is the worlds worst form of birth control.Alot assume they can not get pregnant while breast feeding. If there was a line, even a faint line then you are pregnant.Look at the instructions that come with the test.It will tell you that no matter how dark and now matter how faint the line is you are pregnant.

Presuming that you have had sex since the birth of your daughter, then yes you could be pregnant. Breastfeeding does not prevent you from ovulating. I have a friend who is a midwife, who really should know better, but she got pregnant a few weeks after giving birth and whilst breastfeeding!

i visit echo what others have stated...confident it incredibly is a threat. each woman is distinctive, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it incredibly is a threat. With that being stated...in case you're certainly pregnant, do no longer enable that quit you from continuing to nurse your cutting-edge infant except you had problems w/ miscarriages and/or preterm hard artwork alongside with your different pregnancies. in case you had "situation-loose" pregnancies till now it continues to be secure to nurse your infant. you will ought to computer screen her output and her weight income as being pregnant each so often reasons a furnish shrink in some women human beings. as long as she has 6-8 moist diapers an afternoon and a minimum of a million grimy diaper each 12-14 days, she's getting sufficient. in case you spot too little output and/or little to no weight income, then you definately might ought to supplement as your furnish must be reducing simply by being pregnant. many women folk human beings nurse a infant whilst being pregnant. it incredibly is finished and for many women human beings it incredibly is secure.

you could still be carrying a few of your pregnancy hormones from your pregnancy with your daughter it takes some time for your body to stop producing them... but you could very well be pregnant! this happened to my grandmother who had my mom in july of 1964 and my aunt in may of 1965!!! my mother who had me in April of 1983 and my sister in june of 1984.both of them where breastfeeding exclusivley and my sister found out she was pregnant at her 6 week check up although she was not breastfeeding.
and for a personal experiance I had to go on the mini pill while breastfeeding exclusivley because after 3 weeks of bleeding afer the birth of my son I started ovulating and by my 6 week check up had already had a period....
ovulation+ period+ sex = pregnancy
if you are infact pregnant
don't freak out you can continue to breastfeed be sure to go to the Dr ASAP and take those prenatal vitamins, get as much rest as you can and follow your doctors instructions carefully.

I don't mean to scare you, but yes, I have two friends who have gotten preggo while exclusively breastfeeding (one is due in october). Go take a test...and if you're not go on the "blue pill"....its the pill but a progestrone based so it does not interfere with how much milk you make.

Many, many women have gotten pregnant while nursing a young baby. If it turns out you're not pregnant, you need to start using birth control now.
