how can I change the size of the vertical line in the text area?

the vertical line in my text area is now a box and I knew at one time how to do it but now forget and I want it back to the line. Does anyone know how to change this? I have tried everything I could think of to no avail.

what I am talking about is when I am on a web page we'll say Yahoo! home page and in the area where you type for search I see a box where the line should be,at the end there where it is usually a blinking line.how can I fix it so it's back to a line instead of a box? I know it's something in my setting and I had done it before but don't remember how and I have tried everything I could think of.

If you're talking about a textarea on a form, then you can mess with the cols= and rows= values on the item until you get the appearance you desire, but keep in mind that the appearance may change for different folks on different browsers on different sorts of screens on different versions of Windows and on, and on...
