I am in IT (Systems Developer/Web Developer) and am thinking of moving into project management What is the best project management certification? - most recognized/relevant in the IT arena.

PMP certification... if you also value certifications and want to take it to the next level, try getting 6 Sigma certification as well... it's being really famous these days.

PMP is far and away the best and most important. Just don't think it will add tons of weight to your resume by itself.
