I'd steer clear of the "Makayla."
Why?
1. It's a fad name, and when the kid's in school there will probably be 2 or 3 of them in their class, all with a unique spelling.
2. It's sexually ambiguous (I've seen both male and females with that name), and I've seen forms of it where the male is "Michaelyn" or "Mikaylin."
3. It's a "weak" sounding name (Can you imagine a CEO named Makayla?)
My mother decided to try and give me a unique name, and I've spent my 30 years correcting people on its spelling and pronunciation. Trust me, it gets old.
Stick with Briana.

Makayla Briana Brown is definitely the best. You could still call her Briana if you wanted, because tons of people go by their middle name.
