There is no such thing as a 125cc moped. A moped by definition is under 50cc.Mopeds cannot be used on motorways.
Any motorcycle with an engine capacity greater than 50cc can legally travel on the motorway, providing the rider is a full licence holder.

125cc is NOT a moped!

Chances are, you actually have a 125cc scooter, which many people mistakenly refer to as a 'moped'. The official, legal definition of a moped is "...any powered two-wheeled vehicle, with an engine capacity not exceeding 50cc".

Mopeds are banned from motorways. Any motorcycle or scooter OVER 50cc can be ridden on British motorways, providing the rider has a full motorcycle licence.

You can ride a 125cc motorbike on a motorway in the UK if you have a full licence to ride it (no L plates). You can not ride any moped on a motorway (up to 50cc, max design speed 35mph) even if you have a full licence to ride it (no L plates). To put it simply, no learners or mopeds on Motorways in the UK. Your question is misleading because a moped can not be 125cc.

four stoke but not two stroke 125cc scooters
i had a four stroke vx 125cc and used to push it to 80mph on 30mph roads and took it on the motorway all the time
but two stroke 125cc would not last to long at the top speed and would result in you skidding along the floor after your engine seized up

Nope and if you did you would probably blow the engine causing the back wheel to lock up and you to land on the road in front of a huge lorry travelling at 70 mph .

Can't think why their not allowed ?
