(x^2 - 2x -35)
= (x - 7)(x + 5) then...divided by (x - 7)

(x - 7)(x + 5)
------------------ = ( x + 5 )
(x - 7)

the answer is ( x+5)

First, factor x2-2x-35. Hint: If this is going to be divisible at all, one of the terms has to be x-7.
