A DAY IN THE LIFE by the Beatles -

Glad you asked: I couldn't recall the name of the song although I knew it was the Beatles . . .

Nice to read some positive stuff here about the Taylor Man...
Yeah, ya right...

Check for other pro-Taylor answers under Advanced/Taylor Hicks/Unresolved questions.

By the way, HEAVEN KNOWS was the first song he sang that night and is from Hicks' first post AI CD TAYLOR HICKS---

UNDER THE RADAR & IN YOUR TIME were released before AI and are available again at his concerts & from MODERN WHOMP in Birmingham

Rock out!

Here are the lyrics, most of which Taylor didn't get to sing . . .

I read the news today oh, boy
About a lucky man who made the grade
And though the news was rather sad
Well, I just had to laugh
I saw the photograph
He blew his mind out in a car
He didn't notice that the lights had changed
A crowd of people stood and stared
They'd seen his face before
Nobody was really sure
if he was from the House of Lords

I saw a film today oh, boy
The English army had just won the war
A crowd of people turned away
But I just had to look
Having read the book
I'd love to turn you on.

Woke up, got out of bed
dragged a comb across my head
Found my way downstairs and drank a cup
and looking up, I noticed I was late
Found my coat and grabbed my hat
Made the bus in seconds flat
Found my way upstairs and had a smoke
Somebody spoke and I went into a dream
Ah

I read the news today oh, boy
Four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire
And though the holes were rather small
They had to count them all
Now they know how many holes
it takes to fill the Albert Hall
I'd love to turn you on

"DO I MAKE YOU PROUD?"

It wouldn't have been the Beetles, as they sing custom written songs for the last song and that is their first CD release.
It is probably already recorded by the time they do or don't win.

Someone mentioned how old he was. They upped the age limit this past year to 29 years of age. I think he might have turned 30 during the show. The Grey hair makes him seem older.

This is a contest about not the perfect singer but the best performer. That is why he won.

I think he sang a song from his own album. To me it sounded like Elvis Presley. He did sing a Beatles song as did everyone else except Kelly. That guy had me from the moment he high stepped out to the audition blowin the blues on the harmonica

I forgot how good Taylor Hicks sounded until I heard him again on the season finale.
