seriously tho, if you really think you were misjudged on an answer, you could send it back to voting,,,and get another opinion that way...maybe you could have a limit of 5 questions a week you could do that for...good idea?...bad idea?...why ?...why not?

well mr marty, maybe you dont put any pride into your answers, but some of us might...i think it would equalize those times when a asker just gives best answer to his friend or his other ID...

the theory that the 'asker' knows best holds true especially if its in more technical catagories, but here on P&S its often more opinionated and abstract~

I am still smiling after reading your question....sounds like something I should have thought of !!!! I've seen some picked answers that made no sense, much less answered the Askers' question. You just want to call somebody and raise H**L......I don't know the solution, but the question/suggestion was great.

That is a very good thought.
I was thinking a similar thing myself.I answered a question yesterday describing what damage drugs can do from my own personal experience and the asker only wanted to hear what he wanted-that drugs are less damaging than alcohol(?).
I don`t mind about the `best answer` that much but if people give you the `thumbs down` after you open your heart on an emotive subject to yourself then you begin to wonder what was the point?

that would be taking this whole Y/A thing too seriously. There is already a court, of public opinion.
bad idea, based on that would just add more bureaucracy to this whole thing.. although i can certainly see where you're coming from..
if you seriously think you were misjudged, email the asker. that's the best you can do currently to make yourself understood. you could also learn from the experience, to make sure your answer is as articulate as possible so people don't get the wrong idea.

Question askers should always pick their best answer instead of the voting...a lot of times, Ive noticed the first answer gets voted just b/c people are lazy

Choosing a best answer is purely subjective and best left to the questioner, as only the questioner knows if the answer answers their question. To let me choose the best answer to your questions doesn't serve you well.

Amen to that sister. Most of the time the question asker picks the answer they want to be true, eventhough there might be 30 answers out there telling them the exact samething...........they pick the worst one.

its just another bug bear thats fraught with difficulties in finding a soloution i'm afraid, and like all the rest we just need to learn to live with it,
i think the main gripe would be is that the asker picked what THEY thought was the answer they could relate to the most. their question/their decision
i know what you mean though, we just need to suck it up i guess

This is not a court of public opinion, it's what the QUESTIONER feels is the best answer, not you.
If it were to be open to the public to pick which answer they think is best, then EVERY question should be decided by vote, not just the ones that every random person on Y.A. disagreed with the askers choice for B.A.
