I have ants really really bad in my house.... I also talked to my neighbors and they have them bad to!
I put out a whole bunch of ant traps and they NEVER worked... Besides having someone come in and professionally spraying what can I do to get rid of them myself? I also have tons of ant hills outside my home by the steps going in, the sidewalk, and in the lawn...

I agree on the Toro. I had an Ants problem in my dorm last year, and used that stuff. I just put it in two places, on my desk and on a windowsill, where the biggest problems were. 2-3 days later all the ants were gone.

It doesn't kill them right away, but they drinks gobs of the stuff then carry it back and feed it to the colony, and they die shortly after.

I had went to training at True Value hardware store and learned that Diazinon works very well. In granular form, they take it back to the nest. Sprinkle it liberally in your yard grass or flowerbeds It may be 4-6 months before you notice there aren't anymore ants. In liquid form, it makes a good barrier spray. With powder you can dust around flowers too.

I always used a gel that they eat and bring back to their nest then die... I think it was called Toro or something. It's in an orange box and says "contains Borax"

It's fun, because you put it on a little piece of cardboard and they swarm the thing, and run to eachother to communicate, and after a couple trips they start acting drunk, and by the next day, no more ants.

Get a box of 20 Mule team Borax. It should be in the laundry soap eisle. Pour it around the areas that you want them out. It works. Leave it down as long as you can. They hate it!
