In other words, if the injury is not so bad that you can't sit through an interview, especially with meds, but there is no way that you could do you job. With this said, you are afraid that you will never be able to do your current job, and being on disability is making you go broke; what should you do?

Yes, get a lawyer. He will send you to a doctor to assess your capabilities, and they will estimate your work capabilities. You won't worry about the things you can and can't do. You can then do as stated above, or get onto permanent disability.

Yes and the state would help you do it. The interest of all parties would be well served by you finding a job you can do and get off workers comp. It is commendable that you are considering this regardless if you are doing it because you just want another job or you are doing it because you feel you will not be able to go back to work on your current job. You can not draw Workman's comp while working at another job but that is a technicality that needs to be worked out with your labor folks.

Consult a lawyer, preferably the one who got your workman's comp settlement. If you are 100% disabled, you probably cannot go back to work, but if you are a percentage disable, you might be able to get a job that is not affected by your disability and no lose your disability payments.

I am not sure about that.
You could always get a work from home job.
Just be careful alot of them want you to pay up front or are scams.
This is the only legit one that I know of, it let me quit my job! (and no, i'm not kidding)
