Simple. Conservatives have been taught to hate Democrats. Therefore anything a Dem puts forth must be wrong, in their view. Lord Limbaugh would never allow the conservatives to give credence to anything a Dem has to say. It is called rip off your nose to spite your face syndrome.

I guess overall it is because my belief in a divine being does not require me to drastically change large amounts of my lifestyle in such a negative way. Really, just being honest.
If you really want me to accept the fact that setting back the countries economy, and my way of life, back decades in an effort to control global warming is necessary then you will have to make a better case for global warming and I will have to see less hypocrasy from the evironmental groups pushing for the change. For example,
First, we stop the blame it all on America chant and hold the other world producers of poluition like China and India (and others) to the same standards and make some serious punishiments ready for those countries who try to cheat any polution agreements.
Second, when a wind turbine plant can't be built because environmentalist say it will hurt the environment then give me an answer on how do we generate power. This scenerio happened in Massachusetts. Remember, wind power is suppossed to be one of the great alternative power acheivements.
Third, don't try to sell me on taking the extra money to buy a hybrid car to drive and then when I do the research find out that hybrids can hurt the environment just as badly. There is a mine in Canada that provides raw product for the electric batteries in hybrid cars. The area around the mine is so environmentally devistated that nothing grows there at all!
Finally, I am going to be naturally suspicious of anybody trying to cram their belief down my throat and immediately discount anyone who disagrees with them. Even the Russians doing scientific research in the Arctic have drilled out ice-cores from thousands of years ago that show global tempratures and carbon dioxide levels were as high and higher than they are now.
Basically, lets have some civil discussions, accurate studies, logical suggestions, and less hypocrasy from the environmentalist and then we can solve this problem.

There are some things that may or may not be true, (and this will piss off a lot of religious folks) including the bible. But God is real. One thing everyone (except for atheist) agree on is a supreme being no matter what name he goes by. You can't even believe in Satan unless you believe in God. They just choose gods adversary to follow.
Global warming has too many experts disagreeing and there are too many questionable people with agenda's and money making schemes backing it, so of course it is going to be looked at critically.

I don't question global warming, but do believe that it is a natural phenomena and not man-made. I've taken my own initiatives over the years to cut down on various consumptions.
As far as faith goes, so much of that is instilled by being raised by a family that believes. It certainly holds things together and promotes family unity. Something that appears to be lacking in today's day and age.
Great question. :)

Global warming is something that can be proven physically. The existence of a Higher Power is, by its nature, a matter of faith.

They demand proof because neocon pundits convince them that they need proof. However, there are Christians and other religious folks that know that global warming is a serious man-caused problem.

I would add to that, how can the so called Christian Party not demand that better care be taken of the planet that God gave us to live on?
One hundred years ago, there were only 8000 cars on the planet. Today, we are pushing a billion. A hundred years ago we did not have all the coal burning power plants we have today. Texas alone puts a trillion pounds of carbon dioxide into the air each year.
I guess it is easy to see how man cannot possibly contribute to global warming. (sarcasm)

Through "faith" His existence is proven to us, we have to make the decision to step out on faith. Global Warming has no promise and is the same scam the "second ice age" fear mongers tried to pull in the 70's, and the "acid rain" fear mongers tried to pull in the 80's.

You should add that there is proof of humans causing global warming and absolutely no proof of a divine being.
