IF the Pats get to the SuperBowl this year it will not be as a result of Randy Moss. Randy is fast and a good receiver but teams know how to cover him and that is why he has been a non-factor in the past few seasons, this combined with the fact that he has lost a step or two and the leagues cornerbacks have gotten even faster, take a look at the combine average 40 times for the past 4 seasons.
There are plenty of DBs out there now that can run with Randy, just as always, the Pats will have a tough time with teams that run the Cover 2 defense because it negates speed on the outside, combine that with some of the teams strong pass rush and the level of talent that the Pats will face this year and they will have a tough season.
The two best things that the Pats have going for them is a strong defense (although and aging and slowing one) and Tom Brady.
The O-Line is pretty good and Maroney is an average back at best, honestly, they were lucky to get by San Diego last year and if the Chargers had a receiver that could actually catch, they might be the world champions right now.
I am picking San Diego to win it all this year, they have the best back field in football, LT, Lornzo Neal and Michael Turner, the best tight end Antonio Gates, a monster O-Line and solid defense, also let's not forget they will have the leagues top pass rusher for all 16 games this year if he stays healthy, Merriman sat out four games last year and still led the league in sacks.

No, as noted above, the Patriots lost by 3 in the 2008 super bowl to the Giants, the only Super Bowl team that Randy Moss was on with the Patriots. He did set a number of reception records for the regular season that year. Brady to Moss that year was a great combination. It took a freak circus catch by Tyree to upset the Patriots in that Super Bowl.

Randy Moss might do some good if he can not be so selfish. obviously Moss is not going to be the main man there and most likely not the right arm man or the left for that matter. Brady and belechek is going to be the best thing that ever happened to Moss because neither one is going to take that cry baby bull crap from him.

he will help improve the offense definitely.
but the will and determination of the patriots depends on Tom Brady. 1st off to brady and moss have to create a good chemistry to. It should be a fun combination to watch. big chance they can make it to the super bowl. but it will be the whole team not just randy moss to lead them

Disagree, the Patriots will win the Patriots the Superbowl. Moss will help but, he won't be stellar! He has a lot to prove but, he is now on the best "team" in football. Although I hate saying that being a Buffalo Bills fan!!

Tom Brady really needed a deep threat, and I think Moss gives that to him. Although I believe Moss has lost a step since his days with the Vikings, he is still a very dangerous receiver. With this, I think the Patriots will win the Super Bowl

I think Moss will be a good help to Brady.
Moss will give them a better chance then last year. I see the PATS making the top 4 but not the superbowl.

i had the patriots goin to the super bowl before they got moss and all of those other free agents. i know that people are saying that the patriots are ruining their reputation as the team that won without any big name players, guys with questionable character, and flashy players. but i actually think that this move will help them big time. imagine how good tom brady will be with a wideout that can make the hall of fame someday. if he can be great with no-name recievers, he should be even better with moss. he was reported to have ran a 4.29 somewhere. i don't think that he will carry their team, but they will win the super bowl and he will rap up his career with the patriots in a few years and make the hall of fame. great move by the front office of the pats
