the song is by Kansas "Carry on Wayward son" album "The Best of Kansas" came out in 1984
chorus: Carry on my wayward son, for there'll be peace when you are done, lay your weary head to rest - don't you cry no more
The song to me is about the illusion of self and self discovery, pain and growth.
