If you have some free daytime, visit the Westside Market. It was voted one of the top 3 best things about food by Saveur Magazine about 4 years ago. Lots of vendors, spices, coffees & teas, cheeses, hot sauces, bakeries and peirogies! Building is just beautiful, an arched brick & tile arcade with a clock tower.

Stop for a brew at Great Lakes Brewery with delicious beers that pay homage to events in Cleveland's history --- Like Burning River Pale ale!

Take an evening and walk around Little Italy. There are of course great restaurants, and there are lots of cool art galleries, antique shops and funky clutter & cool stores. Stop in Little Italy Wines - Matt or Tim will let you taste and help you shop -- try the cheese!! Primo Vino across the street is a basement bistro with red & white checked tablecloths. The food is simple italian - not nouvelle bistro fare, but the wines are extraordinary. Ask Robert to help you choose an extraordinary wine. Bella Vita has great home decor items and Heartstrings is a shop of all things eclectic, vintage & funky - they even have an authentic metal chastity belt!

Coventry area and Cedar-Lee area are nearby and have great dining and shopping (Cedar-Lee has a great indie film house.) on Cedar - stop at the Gelateria -- up to 36 fabulous flavors of Gelato - try the pink grapefruit or the lemon with whisper thin shavings of chocolate, or the gianduia - hazelnut chocolate.

The botanical garden is great, with special events and exhibits through the summer.

Pick up a Scene Magazine while you are there, for a listing of the week's social, dining, events & music.

Who says training has to be boring!

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is too touristy. Try Severance Hall for a Cleveland Orchestra concert. The Western Reserve Historical Society museum on Wade Oval Park is great, and surrounded by the Botanical Gardens. Near Little Italy for great Italian dinners.

Take in an Indians ball game. The Cleveland Zoo is a good place to go also.

Excuse most of the post Cleveland has a long standing history of East Side vs. West side & everyone always wants to say how the East side is terrible but it's actually very nice and very diverse areas. Some of the places mentioned are not as crime ridden as some people try to say. Anyways I don't see why you wouldn't want to live in Mayfield Hts. it's near your job, and the free way so if you want to go downtown you're right there, also there is a lot places to go shopping in that area. Non free way access to Mayfield Hts area nice places would be Cleveland Hts., University Hts., Lyndhurst, Richmond Heights, Beachwood, and South Euclid. & yes there is a very large Jewish population over here on the East side. There are parts of Euclid that is really nice and also Wickcliff isn't that far away from Mayfield Hts either. If you like a more diverse area with a lot of unique shops check out Cleveland Hts.

Go to the Flats, check out the Treamont scene or the Coventry scene. Take in a show at the Ominax theater at the Science Center, go to a ball game (sorry Cavs games are probably all sold out!!), check out the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame (its not that great, unless your into that sorta thing). Unfortunately our most beautiful Art Museum is under construction, so you'd be limited to what ever traveling exhibit is going on. Theres plenty of things to do in Cleveland, just pick up one of the free Scene mags. and find out what going on that week you'll be in town.

Rock n Roll Hall of Fame is in Cleveland and if you're into football, the Football Hall of Fame is about an 45 minute drive away. It is located right outside of Akron.
